Women During World War II and the Scarcity of Labor

During World War II, the American Homefront changed in many ways due to the scarcity of resources. Throughout this lesson, the students will investigate the essential question: how does the scarcity of resources bring change? However, students will specifically evaluate the change that women faced during World War II due to the lack of labor on the American homefront.  Students will be evaluating primary source images and documents in order to answer the essential question. The lesson features three Making Thinking Visible strategies: See-Think-Wonder, Circle of Viewpoints, and Headlines, that are used to aid students in their analysis and application of learning.
