Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities
July 21-August 6, 2023 – 1 CEU
We excited to be launching our first (of three) asynchronous short course – Introduction to Teaching with Primary Sources. It is 10 contact hours (1 CEU). This Level 1 course will focus on an overview of teaching with primary sources. The next two courses will focus on working with specific types of primary sources.
The first 20 to successfully complete the course by AUGUST 6, 2023 will have their CEU paid for. If not, it will cost you $20 for the CEU. This session will end on August 6th. This course is for social studies, English Language Arts, gifted, and elementary educators.
There are 5 core modules:
- Introduction to Teaching with Primary Sources
- Where can you find primary sources? Resources for the classroom teacher.
- TPS Teachers Network
- Primary Source Analysis – Thinking Like a Historian
- Planning for teaching with primary sources (a focus on what existing lesson plans and resources exist for FREE)
