Gutenberg: The History and Impact of the Printing Press

In this lesson, students will be exploring the history and the impact of the printing press. In order for students to learn about the printing press, the teacher will lead the students through an Augmented Reality (AR) Google Expedition, which details the three different methods of printing.  Not only will students learn about the printing press, but they will also learn about the Gutenberg Press and how this press was different from a hand carved and woodblock printing press. Students will also analyze primary sources using the Library of Congress ORQ, the Making Thinking Visible See-Think-Wonder strategy, SOAPS, and the TCI Visual Discovery strategy. At the end of the lesson the students will be able to summarize the importance of the Gutenberg Press.
