Rome’s Social Class: Plebeians and Patricians

In this multi-day lesson, students will learn about the social class of Rome by analyzing quotations related to Ancient Rome, artwork illustrating the social classes of Ancient Rome, and a video that illustrates the social classes of Ancient Rome. To analyze the sources, student will be engaged in See-Think-Wonder, a Making Thinking Visible strategy. This lesson also connects English Language Arts to social studies as students assume the role of a Plebeian or a Patrician and write their obituary or a diary entry.
