Dust Bowl: An Environmental Disaster and its Impact

This lesson, taught to 11th  graders, explores the causes of the dust bowl, including environmental abuses, and how this impacted society and government policies. The students complete the lesson by synthesizing primary sources about the Dust Bowl to create an expository writing piece describing the causes and impact of the Dust Bowl.  Additionally, the students engage with primary sources using the observe, reflect, question structure.
